DEPRESSION

TRAUMA

In the aftermath of a traumatic event, such as sexual abuse, violence, betrayal, sudden loss, difficult and intense feelings of fear, sadness, grief, shock, and shame can be overwhelming. You may be experiencing nightmares or flashbacks and the desire to numb these feelings through activities, distractions, or addictions. The effects of trauma can also disrupt relationships at a time when you need them the most.

GRIEF/LOSS

The loss of a loved one is perhaps one of the hardest experiences of life and a major cause of grief. While it may be the most common cause, it is not the only reason for feelings of grief. It can also be experienced as a result of financial problems, losing a job, changing schools, jobs or residencies, divorce, illness (self or a loved one), deteriorating health, and children experiencing their parents’ divorce.

The caring, supportive therapists at The Life Changer Center will walk with you, together, as you move through all the emotions that accompany grief and loss.

 

SPIRITUALITY

Spiritual direction is a ministry and service that helps people tell their sacred stories every day. The Life Changer Center offers one-on-one spiritual direction for companionship on life’s journey – offering skills and compassion to help each person along their path to spiritual growth.

As an interfaith counseling center, The Life Changer Center therapists can help you find your life purpose, overcome obstacles, and put pain and grief into perspective.

 

SELF HARM

Self-harm or injury inflicted on oneself is generally a sign of intense inner turmoil, anxiety and/or severe suppressed emotions. Though some individuals who self-harm may attempt suicide, in general, acts of self-harm do not indicate a desire to end one’s life.

Eating disorders happen when someone’s relationship to food spirals out of control. This could manifest in all sorts of ways.
